In the last five years, I’ve published three novels, with my fourth coming next year. I also worked for many years in book publishing, most recently as a senior editor at Random House. I’m intimately familiar with the creative process from both sides.
Since leaving Random House to focus full-time on writing, I’ve continued working with a select number of writers as a freelance editor. At Random House, I worked with journalists, novelists, historians, and memoirists. My freelance work reflects that same range.
Each engagement looks a little different, depending on what a writer is looking for in that moment. It might be working through story and structure; it might be a line edit; it might be getting a proposal into shape; it might be a bigger picture conversation about navigating the publishing process.
